The loading of a large gas kiln like this is not for the faint of heart. I work with two great partners, and it takes many hours of glazing and then two days of work to load it and brick it shut. Then Ray fires it, the last time for 24 hours to achieve the reduction atmosphere that gives us those great deep colours. Wednesday night is unloading...we hope it will be a "christmas" type moment, not "halloween".
Only another two days to wait....
