Back from Holidays

Even though it is only the beginning of the biggest production and sales season of the year, we have had a break.  A Family Celebration in Toronto took us away for 4 great days!  When I am away from the studio , etc....it always feels more like a break.

Here are a few highlights.  this is my Godmother, Zenovia.  She is a piece of my past and my foundation so it was great to have a few hours with her today, Mr. G took the pictures, and as you can see we ate heartily!
Ceramics inspired by Mesopotamia.
Gman and I in downtown Toronto after time at the ROM and the famous Gregs ice cream, gale force winds too!
We both want to call this one, Dont leave me hanging!
My little brother and I at the ROM

Well, bright and early tomorrow back to the wheel, and to transform the wonderful fall leaves I brought home into many wonders of clay!

Colour Time in the Garden

One month ago I was so happy to just see green, and now the garden is bursting with colour.  I took these this morning, and since then the irises have started to come out.   I love this time of year!!! with the heat of the last few days things are moving along quickly.

Blooms abound even in the rain

I wanted to share some of the highlights of my garden in mid June in the Canadian prairies, 30 Celsius one day and maybe 8 Celsisus the next.  And yet we thrive! This hydrangea is my splurge item this summer.
The peonies are hanging low with all this rain, but still fragrant and lovely.
the rose bush is covered with blooms, and doesn't seem to bothered by the bugs.
Still hoping for some more colours to come out, and that some of the lilies will outthrive the lily beatles.

New Colours

These are some of the new colours I am working with in the kiln at home, tangerine, lemon and a soft turquoise.  I like the broadened range of options and will be continuing to experiment.
I will be making more wine tumblers, mugs and bowls in these colours for the Spring sales.
