End of October, kiln loading and firing looming ever so close by, and still working on orders and getting orders.  The madness, madness of it all, but I find it keeps me energized in November which is quite sole killing in the Canadian prairies, at least for me.

 so here is an in house video that might work, not just sure. My filmmaker associate is only 7 after all.

Bidding for bowls with birds

this yarn bowl found a home yesterday at the WEST Craft and Vintage Sale.  I actually had two women at the booth at the same time, but one got a phone call from her mom.   little did I know they both wanted to buy the same bowl.  I almost had it wrapped up, and the 2nd woman said howmuch she liked the bowl.  The first woman with the bowl in her hand said she would take a different one, and she offered the bird bowl to the first woman.  Everyone went away happy and I made two sales.

Spring time, Polar Bears, berries and bowls

It is May, even though it hasn't felt very Mayish here most days.  I have been to see Hudson at our zoo, and snapped some photos of our arty bears in Winnipeg. Not really wanting to think about polar anything, I need warmth.  Most of my focus is trying to finish pots for the firing at the end of the month, and transition to gardening.

My hascap bushes are valiantly trying to leaf out, last year I had berries at this time I think.  Saturday night it reportedly went to -7C.  Hard for the plants to make much headway or for me to get enthusiasm to deal with quack grass.  Rhubarb is moving along as you can see in the photos. It is such a hardy prairie iconic plant for us here in Manitoba.

Bluejays are back so they add colour to my bare apple tree, but I know that it will be leafy and blossomy before long. 

Got some pitchers thrown yesterday while supervising a play date, good thing I can hear them through the floor and tried out a new raspberry coffee cake recipe.  Will post that one later in the week.

It is a crzy busy time of year.  Delivered stock to new stores in the Brandon area on Friday.   a great sale with the ETsy team, WEST on Saturday!   Throwing, firing, drying, glazing, moving pots from one  studio to another, designing custom pots for a friends business.  And I am still standing!

Still needing wanting to throw a lot before next weeks kiln, but the drying without exploding will be my biggest challenge!  Adrenalin is a highly underrated asset.

Well so far not too bad, need to practice with these glazes, all the black is thin and will have to be painted and fired again.  the pink needs to be sieved, and I picked up a new milky white yesterday to work with.  Onward ho!  Festival is only a few weeks away  and I need to get things over to the big kiln too.  Never a dull moment.
